Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson's Nephew, Will Star In The MJ Biopic

The Michael biography, which will feature Jaafar Jackson, has been cast. Jackson, who is the son of Jermaine Jackson and the nephew of the late American icon, will use his talent to bring John Logan’s script to life, according to Deadline.

Jackson, now 26 years old, has been singing and dancing since he was a little child. In 2019, he even released the song and music video “Got Me Singing,” which features him dancing, singing, and showing respect to his uncle.

Michael Jackson’s complexity as a person and performer will be examined in the biopic, along with the terrible pedophilia allegations. Famously, Joe Jackson, Michael’s late father, reportedly verbally and physically abused Michael as he raised the family from Gary, Indiana, to become a household name.

Jackson’s biopic will have scenes about the pop artist missing out on childhood, getting famous, and how his early life affected him as an adult.

For Lionsgate, Antoine Fuqua will helm Michael, and Graham King, the man behind the successful Bohemian Rhapsody biopic of Freddie Mercury, will serve as producer. Additionally, GK Films will manage production duties alongside John Branca and John McClain, the co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate.

Additionally, MJ’s estate will provide the Lionsgate picture access to a huge selection of the King of Pop’s back catalog for the film’s soundtrack.

Early in January 2023, Fuqua gave a statement about the impending film.

The first movies I ever made were music videos, and he said, “I still feel like fusing film and music are a core part of who I am. “In my opinion, no other performer compares to Michael Jackson in terms of strength, charm, and pure musical genius. He was the first Black musician to have a lot of MTV play his songs, and I was inspired to start making music videos after seeing his work. My worldview is influenced by both his music and his photos, so the opportunity to present his narrative alongside his music on television was too alluring to pass up.
