Riley Keough posted a picture of her last encounter with her late mother Lisa Marie Presley.

The Lodge actress, 33, posted a picture of herself grinning next to Lisa Marie on Tuesday. The two were at an event held at the Formosa Café in West Hollywood on Sunday, Jan. 8, to commemorate Elvis Presley’s birthday. The pre-Golden Globes celebration took place days before Lisa Marie passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 on Thursday, January 12. The Elvis cast was also there.

“I feel blessed to have a photo of the last time I saw my beautiful mama. Grateful @georgieflores georgieflores for taking this. ❤️,” Keough wrote in the caption.

This past Sunday, Keough’s husband Ben Smith-Petersen read aloud a tribute on behalf of Keough, who was sat in the front row, at a memorial service for Lisa Marie held at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Keough was present.

“I will always be grateful that we were together for 33 years. I’m confident that I made the world’s best mother choice for me. I can recall everything. You gave me baths when I was a baby, I recall. Smith-Petersen read the poem aloud on stage, “I recall the way you would cuddle me… and the way you smelt.

“I remember all the notes you’d leave in my lunchbox every day. I remember the feeling I’d get when I’d see you picking me up from school … I remember how it felt to be loved by the most loving mother I’ve ever known. Thank you for showing me love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” he continued. “Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart.

“I hope you now understand how cherished you were here. I appreciate you working so hard for us,” he said to Keough. “Thank you if I didn’t tell you every day.”

In addition to her three kids Riley, Finley and Harper Lockwood, both 14, and her granddaughter, Lisa Marie is also survived by her mother Priscilla, 77. Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie’s son, died before her in 2020 when he committed suicide at the age of 27.

Riley revealed in a source interview in December that her mother made her think of her on her forthcoming show Daisy Jones & The Six.

Keough stated that Lisa Marie was “a really powerful, intellectual woman,” and that “my mother is definitely an influence to me.”

She continued, “I was raised by somebody who did their own thing and didn’t really care what other people thought. She was definitely inspirational to me.”
