Peyton Hillis’ fiancée Angela Cole claims that he is “on the road to recovery.”

On Wednesday, Cole, 28, posted a favorable update on Hillis’ status and referred to him as “a hero.” She posted on Instagram that “Peyton is off the ventilator and is on the road to recovery.”

After saving his children from drowning on January 5 in Pensacola Beach, Florida, the former NFL star still has “a ways ahead of him.”

Cole expressed her “incredible gratitude” for Hillis’ family and the medical staff assisting in her rehabilitation while also expressing her “very proud” of Hillis. The actress and singer continued by saying that Hillis’s recovery has been “all the difference” because to “prayers and love.”

Cole added, “Today was a terrific day.

Hayley Davis, the athlete’s sister, mirrored Cole’s post on her Facebook page on Wednesday. I just wanted to let everyone know that Peyton is doing fantastic and is off the ventilator,” Davis wrote. We are incredibly grateful to God for his blessings.

Greg Hillis, Peyton’s uncle, also noted that Hayley is Peyton’s sister and that she “was also a hero in the water alongside Peyton.”

Greg claims that after the event, Peyton and his sister “had to be transferred to the hospital by ambulance.” Her condition has not received any further information.

Hillis, 36, was reportedly transported by helicopter to the hospital following the beach disaster, according to Fox 24 anchor Alyssa Orange.

From 2008 to 2014, the former running back played for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, and New York Giants in the NFL. Additionally, he appeared on the video game Madden ’12’s cover. Since then, he has started acting.
