The Underdoggs, an MGM sports comedy starring Snoop Dogg, with a talented ensemble cast that includes Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Andrew Schulz, George Lopez, and others. The studio has compared the movie to “The Bad News Bears” and “Youth Football.”
Jonigan Booth, Adan James Carrillo, Kylah Davila, Caleb Dixon, Alexander Michael Gordon, and Shamori Washington are additional cast members.
Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis wrote the script, and Charles Stone is poised to helm.
Snoop Dogg stated in a statement when the project was first unveiled that “‘The Underdoggs’ is a genuine personal endeavor for me because I’ve been coaching football for 15+ years with the Snoop Youth Football League that I created with my longtime business partner Constance Schwartz-Morini.”
He stated, “We’ve been able to share so many priceless life lessons that we’ve learned via giving back to the community through football with kids in comparable circumstances to mine when I was growing up.” “My hope is that this film will illuminate the reality that youngsters and adults deal with in the ghetto and in the intricate world of football,” the author says.
The Underdoggs is now in production, and a 20 October 2023 release date has been set for the movie..
