This year’s VMAs will feature a ground-breaking performance from Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
Snoop Dogg and Eminem have recently been collaborating closely after a brief back-and-forth between the two Dr. Dre proteges. The two collaborated on “From The D 2 The LBC,” which appeared on Eminem’s Curtain Call 2 earlier this year. They declared that their revolutionary performance at the VMAs this month will feature their joint work.
The two artists said that the future VMA performance will take place on a platform inspired by the Otherside metaverse as they continue to delve deeper into the metaverse and the NFT reality. The virtual world developed by Yung Labs isn’t finished, but it’s planned to use NFTs and the cryptocurrency ApeCoin. It appears that Snoop and Em are both promoting the platform in advance of its launch.
Snoop Dogg said earlier this year that he had purchased Death Row Records. Soon after, he made known his intentions to be the first record label to enter the digital market. His upcoming performance appears to be another step toward founding the first NFT label.
The VMAs will be held in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on August 28. Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and other performers will also take the stage alongside them. It starts at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
