With the release of “New Money,” the second single from Calvin Harris’ Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2, which will be available on August 5 via Sony Music, the “wavs” are getting increasingly bouncy.

The song is a breath of cool summer air and marks the Scottish producer’s debut collaboration with 21 Savage. With a guitar solo, “New Money” combines relaxation with hip-hop and a hint of yacht rock.

The day after he released the full list of the featured artists for Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2, Harris teased “New Money” for the first time on social media yesterday, June 30. The vocalists for May’s lead album single, “Potion,” Dua Lipa and Young Thug, as well as Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Halsey, Tinashe, Normani, Shenseea, British rapper Stefflon Don, Chloe Bailey, Pusha T, Lil Durk, Offset, 6lack, rapper Coi LeRay, Latto, Pharrell, Swae Lee, Jorja Smith, and Charlie

The release of “New Money” will add to 21 Savage’s already significant moment, whose Drake collaboration “Jimmy Cooks” premiered at No. 1 on the Hot 100 this week. This group effort is 21 Savage’s second Hot 100 No. 1 song.

A couple of the same artists who worked on the upcoming LP were also featured on the 2017 compilation Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, including Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Frank Ocean, Migos, and Nicki Minaj. The Thea album spent 42 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart after debuting at No. 2.

Harris has been focusing on his acid house-focused Love Regenerator project over the past few years, so this is also his last album to be released. Since Harris debuted in 2007 with the iconic I Created Disco and went on to become the father of the EDM sound with hits like “Summer,” “Feel So Close,” and “We Found Love,” this will be his sixth studio album.
