This fall, the Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction will collaborate on the Spirits On Fire Tour. The alternative rock artists will tour North America in October and November, with Poppy providing support on most dates and Meg Myers opening a couple of select events.
The tour begins on October 2nd in Dallas, TX, and will stop in key cities such as Nashville, TN (10/10); Madison Square Garden in New York (10/19); a hometown show in Chicago, IL (11/5); Denver, CO (11/7); Seattle, WA (11/12); and more before closing on November 19th in Los Angeles, CA. Myers will perform at the tour’s Pittsburgh, PA leg on October 22nd and Cleveland, OH date on October 29th.
This news comes just weeks after guitarist Jeff Schroeder claimed that the band has completed recording the follow-up to 2020’s Cyr, which frontman Billy Corgan said will complete the trifecta of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and Machina/The Machine from 1995 and 2000. The band also confirmed the release of new songs in 2022 in a statement announcing the tour. The Smashing Pumpkins are now on their postponed Rock Invasion 2 tour, which will last until the end of May.
The Smashing Pumpkins’ Spirits On Fire Tour with very special guest Jane’s Addiction kicks off with a Live Nation ticket pre-sale on Thursday, May 12th at 10 a.m. local time (with code FINALE), followed by a public on-sale on Friday, May 13th at 10 a.m. local time.
