Joe Budden has expressed strong feelings about Donald Glover’s latest album, Bando Stone and the New World, practically ripping it apart in an honest review on his Joe Budden Podcast.

According to Budden, the album is poor in comparison to his prior work, and he “hates” it.

“I detest it! I totally f**king despise it. “I apologize,” the New Jersey representative stated on Monday (July 29). “I know I’m gaining a reputation as a hater, fast,” according to him.

Budden then ascribed his candid evaluation to his work as a media figure and talk show host, as he has struggled to be politically correct in his ideas and beliefs. “If you spoke as much as I have to speak for a living, eventually you’d have to start telling the truth about some things,” the man, who is 43, added.

Budden explicitly criticized the album for not including enough of a specific style he loved, describing it as “crazy” in a way he did not like. Despite his critical position, he felt conflicted about the music “No Excuses,” which he described as “bisexual” and “real alternative.” While he made light of the song and its idea, it was one of the few tracks on Bando Stone and the New World to receive a positive review.

“Let him get in his bisexual bag!” Budden spoke about the music. “No, this song sounds like you’re taking all takers. Whoever is trying to holla at the club, you’re down. However, there is fire.

Bando Stone and the New World, Glover’s final project under the Childish Gambino pseudonym, has received mixed reviews, ranging from praise to mediocre. Bando Stone and the New World’s commercial performance has been hard, with 36,000 copies sold in its first week—a considerable dip from Glover’s previous album, Awaken, My Love!, which sold 101,000 copies in 2016.
