The killing of Tupac Shakur is one of the saddest and most well-known events in hip-hop history. Its murder still intrigues people and causes debate.
He had a fight with Biggie Smalls and lost, which adds to the dark and mysterious situation. There is still hope that we will find out what happened, even though this case has been open for almost thirty years.
Sure, those answers have mostly been rumors up until now, but it looks like we might soon have an official answer. According to the Associated Press, Las Vegas police nabbed suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis on Friday (September 29) for murder with a deadly weapon in the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed one. Davis was one of the last witnesses to the crime.

As of writing this piece, not much is clear, but we do know that Davis was charged by a Nevada grand jury soon after he was arrested. Also, this comes after a few other interesting changes in the Tupac case recently, especially when it comes to Keefe D. A lot of people, including authorities, think that he killed the person, but new forensic tests show that they were wrong. For instance, police found bullets in his home that didn’t belong at the crime scene. His testimony and legal fight have led to more questions about this.

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue about the Tupac case, Diddy’s former bodyguard Gene Deal said, “Well, the story I heard that was shown in the murder rap movie or whatever, it was Greg Katie accounts that supposedly Keefe D gave.” Deal called Keefe’s claims into question. “Have you ever been questioned by police or been in any other situation involving them, right?” What you’re going to say is already written down before they get to the camera or the videotape. They will tell you what to say, how to think, and what to do to get out of this mess.
“And Keefe D- no offense,” Deal said next. “He did what he had to do to get home,” I said. He spoke out so he could be free. Everyone is out of the game right now. Either he wins or loses.
