As criticism of Madonna’s physical looks on the internet persists, Debi Mazar defended her “beautiful” pal.
At the Miscast23 Gala earlier this week, Mazar said to Page Six, “I don’t pay attention to any of it. “I don’t care what people think about me or about anyone; I think Madonna is beautiful.”
Nowadays, she added, “everyone [on the internet] has an opinion, and the only genuine way to survive—only the strong survive—is to not hear all the noise.
I think Madonna is gorgeous, the “Younger” actor reaffirmed.
The Queen of Pop also responded to the negative remarks made in response to her presence at the Grammy Awards in February.
“Once more, I find myself in the spotlight of ageism and misogyny that permeate our society. She commented on social media that there is “a world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 and feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, diligent, and adventurous.”
She said, before paraphrasing Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” “I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career, but I understand that this is all a test and I am delighted to do the trailblazing so that all the ladies after me will have an easier time in the years to come.
