Michael Madsen filed for divorce from his wife, DeAnna Madsen, on Wednesday, following 28 years of marriage.
In Los Angeles court filings acquired by Page Six, the star of “Kill Bill” cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their split.
However, Michael disclosed that he and DeAnna split up shortly after their son Hudson committed suicide in January 2022, which he blames on his estranged wife.
In the lawsuit, the “Donnie Brasco” actor wrote that he believes DeAnna “drove” their 26-year-old son to commit suicide “by her neglect, drinking and alcoholism.”
He argued that their problems extended far beyond “irreconcilable differences,” claiming that his spouse “significantly contributed to [his] personal issues as well.”

Michael claimed to be “a victim in an abusive, co-dependent, and toxic relationship,” which resulted in him being “wrongfully arrested” last month.
The actor was arrested on Aug. 17 on a minor domestic assault allegation after DeAnna said he shoved her during a disagreement. He promptly posted a $20,000 bail.
The following week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney announced that the case would not be pursued due to insufficient evidence.
In addition to the divorce, Michael wants a domestic violence restraining order against DeAnna.
“Once the cell bars close on you, it’s the final curtain on any marriage or relationship, and mine was no exception,” he told me.

Representatives for the longtime Quentin Tarantino colleague did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
Following Michael’s arrest last month, DeAnna denied breaking into his home, telling the Los Angeles Times that they still lived together in Malibu and were not separated.
“Michael is struggling with his own personal issues,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “Myself and our children have done our best to help him. We would want to request privacy at this time.
Meanwhile, Michael’s attorney, Perry Wander, told the Times that the “Reservoir Dogs” star had wanted to file for divorce for a long time but had “been delaying it” until their son Luke turned 18 in October.

Along with Luke and Hudson, the former couple had a 27-year-old son named Calvin. Michael has two boys with his ex-wife Jeannine Bisignano: Christian, 34, and Max, 30.
The family’s world came crumbling down in 2022 when Hudson, a US Army sergeant, committed himself while living in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie Madsen.
“I am in shock because my son, whom I just spoke with a few days ago, said he was happy — my last text from him was ‘I love you dad,'” Michael told the Los Angeles Times days after Hudson died.
“I did not notice any indicators of depression. It’s so awful and sad. “I’m just trying to make sense of everything and understand what happened,” he explained at the time.
