Ashanti and Nelly have officially become parents after giving birth to their first child together.
The singer announced the joyful news on Instagram, saying, “Funny how life’s plans aren’t always on time… lol.”
She claims she has waited a long time to be a mother and is proud of her physique!
Ashanti announced her pregnancy in April with a comedy skit starring her mother, Tina Douglas, entitled “Baby, baby, baby, baby” in an homage to her 2002 hit.

They also announced their engagement at the same time, but TMZ revealed last month that they had actually been married months before.

According to public records, Ashanti and Nelly married on December 27, 2023, and it appears they said “I do” in Nelly’s homeland of St. Louis County.
To be honest, all of the baby news tallied up—’cause Nelly was spotted stroking Ashanti’s belly in December.
It’s a full-circle family moment for them; after reigniting their romance last year, they’re now recreating their glory days as two of music’s biggest names in the 2000s.
