The NBA just announced that it has secured a media rights arrangement with Amazon Prime Video for 2025 and beyond, citing Warner Bros. Discovery’s bid as insufficient.

The agreement means that the upcoming 2024-25 season will be the league’s last with TNT, bringing the beloved “Inside the NBA” show to an end.

“Warner Bros. Discovery’s most recent proposal did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video’s offer and, therefore, we have entered into a long-term arrangement with Amazon,” the NFL stated in a statement.

The Association stated that it focused enhancing reach and accessibility to fans, and that Amazon was a better fit to complement its existing broadcast, cable, and streaming packages with Disney and NBCUniversal.

“All three partners have also committed substantial resources to promote the league and enhance the fan experience.”

The league concluded its statement by praising Turner Sports for its coverage since the 1980s… and stating it looked forward to one final hoorah this coming season.

It will be a significant change for basketball fans… as Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny “The Jet” Smith were a legendary combo that provided innumerable exciting moments on the ‘Inside’ desk throughout the years.

The NBA’s overall arrangement with Disney, Amazon Prime Video, and NBC is worth $76 billion over 11 years. Amazon’s annual commitment is $1.8 billion… and, despite Warner Bros. Discovery’s claim that it matched that figure, the league claims Amazon’s offer was better.
