FX has released the trailer for the highly anticipated comedy series The Bear.

All episodes of Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King director Christopher Storer’s half-hour comedy series will be available exclusively on Hulu. The series follows Carmy, a young chef who returns to Chicago after his brother’s suicide to take over his sandwich shop. Carmy must quickly learn to manage the realities of running a small business, which are far removed from the fine dining styles to which he is accustomed.

The trailer for The Bear depicts Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto’s (Jeremy Allen White) numerous struggles as he attempts to turn his restaurant into a respectable business. As he progresses, he realizes that he must deal with a slew of problems, ranging from misplaced orders to broken toilets and disgruntled management. His biggest challenge is gaining the trust of his new employees, who are skeptical of his methods. Despite the odds stacked against him, he sticks to his guns and gradually gains the respect of a few.

White revealed to EW that he spent weeks training at an L.A. cooking school and also spent time at prestigious restaurants in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York in preparation for the role. To get a sense of what was expected of him in his role, White briefly worked as a chef at Pasjoli, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Santa Monica, where he worked under the supervision of chef Dave Beran. “Before this show, I was completely clueless in the kitchen, and then I gradually got to kind of mediocre,” White explained. Joanna Calo, co-showrunner, praised White’s commitment to the project, telling EW; “He had to put in a lot of effort. Jeremy’s knife skills have improved significantly.”

White joins the show after a successful run on Showtime’s Primetime Emmy-nominated comedy-drama Shameless. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, and Lionel Boyce also appear in The Bear. Christopher Storer created the show, and he also serves as an executive producer alongside Joanna Calo.

On June 23, all episodes of FX Productions’ The Bear will be available exclusively on Hulu. The trailer is available below:
