On a day of red flag warnings owing to strong Santa Ana winds in Southern California, firefighters halted the forward advance of a brush fire Tuesday morning that endangered buildings in the Hollywood Hills.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Around 10 a.m., the 8400 block of West Sunset Boulevard was the scene of a reported fire. Progress was halted prior to 11 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hollywood region was filled with smoke. The estimated size of the fire was three acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information regarding the origin of the fire was not immediately available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Widespread areas of the area were placed under red flag warnings on Tuesday morning, signifying a significant risk of fire. It is anticipated that the warnings will be in effect until Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red flag warnings were issued Tuesday morning for the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, the San Gabriel, San Fernando, and Santa Clarita valleys, as well as the Malibu shoreline.
