Chadwick Boseman performed one final act of compassion for a Make-A-Wish youngster before dying of cancer in 2020.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Black Panther hero died at the age of 43, startling and hurting his fans all around the world after keeping his colon cancer diagnosis quiet in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” the actor’s family wrote in a statement at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several others, all were filmed in between operations and chemotherapy. “Bringing King T’Challa to life in Black Panther was the greatest honor of his career.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there are many nasty celebrities in Hollywood, Boseman was undeniably one of the decent ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic of the most ‘wholesome celebrity fact’ recently arose on Reddit, and one member shared the extraordinary act of kindness the Black Panther star demonstrated despite nearing the end of his cancer struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Chadwick Boseman dressing up in costume for make a wish kids – knowing he was going to die from cancer himself,” wrote one Redditor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I had no idea and never considered it as a possibility. “Time to be sad all over again,” one Reddit user said, while another added, “F**k, this one hits.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boseman texted Nate Moore, an executive producer on Black Panther, about the gesture of kindness before his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The producer and actor had collaborated to send a present to a fan via the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which supports terminally ill children.<\/p>\n\n\n

Moore told PEOPLE: “We collaborated to obtain a small child a voice note from T’Challa [Boseman’s character], as well as a bundle of toys, which was no easy job given that we weren’t allowed to leave our houses or go to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But Chad figured out how to make it work because he cared so intently, and in hindsight, so personally.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A final text from Boseman before his sad death mentioned the gesture of compassion, with Moore getting the message: “It broke me, man. But we have to do it for them. People deserve a full life and wonderful moments. They’ve gone through hell combating sickness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“f we were able to ease their suffering and bring joy for a moment \u2026 then we made a difference in his life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
