During her presidential campaign, Kamala Harris paid $1 million to Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions; however, the television personality denied keeping a portion of the money.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Washington Examiner revealed that Harris “paid more than $15 million, according to federal filings,” on “event production” after the vice president’s defeat by Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A $1 million payment to Harpo Productions for the “United for America” town hall, hosted by 70-year-old Winfrey and live-streamed on September 19, was part of that payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 60-year-old Harris was questioned by the “Wrinkle in Time” star how she would address abortion rights, immigration, and gun violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the event, Winfrey said, “This is the moment for people who are tired of all of the name-calling and bickering, people who are tired of the craziness and the made-up stories and the conspiracies.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You are aware that we are capable of and deserving of better. You are aware of this. We’re better than this, and I know you know that.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Tracee Ellis Ross were among the celebrities that attended the virtual town hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winfrey denied receiving a portion of that sum in exchange for supporting Kamala Harris on Monday night in the 2024 presidential race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I received no payment at all. In the comments section of the Shade Room’s Instagram post regarding the rumors, she stated, “My time and energy was my way of supporting the campaign.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“My production company Harpo was asked to bring in set design, lights, cameras, microphones, crew, producers, and everything else needed (including the benches and chairs we sat on) to put on a live production for the live-streaming event in September,” the “Color Purple” actress continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

“I didn’t accept any personal payment. Nonetheless, the individuals who contributed to that creation had to be compensated. and were. The narrative is over.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At her campaign rally in Philadelphia on November 4, Winfrey also backed Harris, who was running against Trump for the US presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After meeting a woman who informed her that she would “sit” out this election, the former TV personality at the time encouraged people to cast their ballots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I told them to sit this one out. This is one that we cannot ignore. It’s very possible that we won’t have the chance to vote ever again if we don’t turn up tomorrow,” she stated on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And to be clear, it is a mistake if you do not ensure that the individuals in your life can get to the polls.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
