For his song “No Guidance,” Chris Brown has been hit with a $5 million copyright infringement and defamation lawsuit. Drake is also mentioned in the lawsuit, along with Sony Music and YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

filed by Marc A. Stephens and Tykeiya Dore, who claim that Chris Brown’s song violates their copyrighted song “I Got It,” which they have attempted to have resolved in the past. Stephens filed numerous notices of copyright infringement with YouTube and Sony Music Entertainment on Dore’s behalf, requesting that Brown’s song be taken down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to alleged responses from Brown’s team, there is no significant similarity between the two songs and the claim “lacks merit” as it is because it is based on unprotectable ideas. They also contend that Dore is unable to demonstrate that Brown had access to her song, which is required to establish intentional infringement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After first suspending Stephens’ account, YouTube decided not to take down Brown’s music video. The battle between the parties is still going on, with YouTube refusing Stephens’ demands to have his content taken down. In an email to Stephens, YouTube stated, “We’ve reviewed this matter and found that you haven’t identified a work that is subject to copyright.” “We are unable to fulfill your request as a result.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
