43.15 million Americans watched the vice presidential debate between Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Sen. JD Vance of Ohio on Tuesday night.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The vice presidential debate between then-Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence in 2020 drew approximately 58 million viewers; by comparison, the ratings for the 2024 debate were 25% lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great majority of television watchers were above 55, as is the case with most live political events in the modern era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presidential debate on Tuesday is most likely the final one of the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, vice presidential contenders have debated once and presidential candidates have faced off three times before the general election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
