The first iPhone Pro units built in India could arrive as early as September or October this year.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Bloomberg, Apple intends to begin manufacturing iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max variants in India “as close to the global debut as possible.” This might be a few weeks after the debut, which is planned in early September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This probably won’t mean much to customers. The next iPhones will be produced by Foxconn, Apple’s long-time manufacturing partner. The new iPhone Pro models will be built in Foxconn’s factory in Tamil Nadu, India’s southernmost state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A significant portion of iPhone manufacture already takes place in India, with Bloomberg reporting in April that one in every seven iPhones are built there, primarily by China’s Foxconn and Taiwan’s Pegatron firms. However, the business apparently only had its “regular” iPhone models constructed in India; if this new story is correct, it would be the first time the iPhone Pro models were manufactured in the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move is significant for Apple, however. To avoid import duties, the business intends to manufacture all iPhones sold in India on-site. Bloomberg claims that this will be reached by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
