The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Monday that American forces recently destroyed three unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) belonging to the Houthis.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to CENTCOM, the drones were launched from Houthi-controlled regions in Yemen over the Gulf of Aden. The weapons were all destroyed between Sunday and Monday evenings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CENTCOM reported that US forces destroyed three other Houthi weapons and vessels in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Separately, USCENTCOM forces successfully destroyed one Houthi uncrewed surface vessel (USV), one Houthi uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) and one Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) in the Red Sea,” according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CENTCOM stated that the weapons “presented a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels in the region.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This reckless and dangerous behavior by Iranian-backed Houthis continues to threaten regional stability and security,” according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier on Monday, a senior US official revealed that a drone strike in Iraq killed a Houthi drone specialist on July 30th. The confirmation came after “several” US servicemen were hurt in a suspected rocket strike on the Ain al-Asad airbase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Base personnel are conducting a post-attack damage assessment,” the official informed Fox News. “We will provide updates as more information becomes available.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
