Kanye West is facing another copyright complaint.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rapper, also known as Ye, is facing a lawsuit for allegedly utilizing an instrumental music in two of his songs after being denied permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday, alleges that Kanye improperly copied components of a song called MSD PT2 in his tracks Moon and Hurricane, which debuted on his 2021 album Donda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complaint was brought by the corporation that owns the rights to the original song, accusing Kanye of “stealing” them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This lawsuit is about more than the defendants’ failure to pay a fee,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, Oren Warshavsky, told Billboard. “It is about the rights of artists, musicians, and songwriters to determine how their works are published and used.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warshavsky went on: “Intellectual property owners have a right to decide how their property is exploited and need to be able to prevent shameless infringers from simply stealing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawsuit also says that in an act of “blatant brazenness,” Kanye claimed the original creators of MSD PT2 as songwriters despite their refusal to work with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suit comes shortly after the Stronger rapper resolved a lawsuit filed by Donna Summer’s estate, alleging that he and fellow rapper Ty Dolla $ign sampled Summer’s 1977 song I Feel Love without permission in their tune Good (Don’t Lie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kanye has previously been sued by the rap group Boogie Down Productions, Marshall Jefferson, and a Texas pastor, among others, on similar grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
